GEOCACHING

VIDEO #1 VIDEO #2 VIDEO #3 VIDEO #4 VIDEO #5

Geocaching is fun game of hide and seek for kids from 8 to 80. If you are just getting into geocaching, you are a seeker. When you've been at a while, you can become a hider. Most traditional caches are easy to find because they are large enough to see when you get within a few yards of the cache. Micro caches can be more difficult to find but offer beginners a fun way to take geocaching to the next level. You can use a GPS to find caches or a cell phone AP. Cell phone APs are typically free or less than $10 whereas a GPS can cost $150 or more. But cell phone APs are less accurate because they use cell phone towers to triangulate a geocache's location, not the actual latitude and longitude coordinates of the cache. And most cell phone Apps run in the background so they continue to drain your battery even when you are not using the App. Battery life and accuracy are two reasons why I prefer my eTrex.
